Foundation Construction Skills

The Foundation Construction courses have been designed for those who have none or very little experience within the trade disciplines. Courses are structured in many different ways and can be studied during weekends or in the evenings, they give tasters in a range of different trade areas allowing learners to gain a number of skills to assit with property maintenance or development. Progression is then available onto a short course, where an individual can study towards a certificate or award in a given trade where they would like additional experience or skills to be gained.

Employability Programme - Upon occasion we provide fully funded Level 1 programmes for those who are unemployed. The programme is named 'Routeway to Construction' and is available for those aged 16+ who are not in employment. You must be able to attend one of our centres 3 days per week for 9 consecutive weeks. You must provide and wear suitable protective and safety equipment such as Steel Toe Capped Shoes or Boots. The course will cover aspects of Bricklaying, Carpentry, Plastering and Health & Safety. We also have courses that are specifically aimed at young learners aged 14 -19; these include learners that attend school and can therefore study alongside their academic subjects and also young people who are not in mainstream education or have struggled with school life. These courses are designed to enable learners to gain valuable trade and life skills, learners often embark upon an Apprenticeship programme in a specific trade area with an employer.
